Some married couples find marriage hard and believe that it is harder now than it used to be. We in the church need to help, support and encourage married couples no matter the length of time they have been married. This ministry should be nothing less than that for our children’s, youth, men or women’s ministries.
With the current pressures of ‘the world’, the continual spiritual attack, busyness etc church leadership can be spending a vast proportion of their time in one to one marriage/family counselling. Such time would be positively impacted by the church having a pro-active marriage ministry led by a suitable married couple, having a strong marriage and a love for marriage who have been empowered by the church leadership. The ministry being focused on building, strengthening marriages of any condition or length married with a gaol of having trained mentors and regularly running equipping events whether evenings, weekend retreats or conferences. All of these being ways to help couples to understand and bring into their own marriage God’s principles for marriage; ways that would impact the direction of their marriage and their individual lives, their family, the church, and the community they serve.
The Marriage Ministry Kit contains different ‘stepping stones’ to meet the needs of growing the church ministry to marriages.
