Activating the fullness of God’s love in marriages
Looking around us there is little in our nation, or the world, today that was ever a part of God’s perfect plan for mankind.
In the order of creation God created man then government and then the church. With the creation of man, man that was sinless at the time God saw and spoke out “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him” Genesis 2:18 [NKJV] Even though Adam was sinless, perfect and without the pressures it was God not Adam that moved. It would seem that Adam was totally unaware of what he lacked. So, God created woman, Eve, from one of Adams ribs and having done so did not leave Adam to find her but presented her to Adam. So, we had the first marriage, all part of God’s perfect plan and showing the importance of marriage to God and to His plan. This should show us the priority that marriage should have in our lives after our relationship with God.
Regrettably the importance and value of marriage per Gods design, generally, is not recognised throughout
God’s plan for marriages
We live in challenging times as much of the media is filled with negative reports of what the enemy is doing and seeking to do through our governments and elsewhere. In our desire to fight back these evils we must ensure that we do not lose heart or grow weary “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.” Galatians 6:9-10 [NASB]
Whilst marriage may be anything but easy, trouble free, it is worthy to invest in and treasured as a great gift from God. Marriage, between man and woman designed by God and for His purpose and glory. How many husbands can affirm the words of Solomon as he wrote in Proverbs 12:4, Proverbs 18:22 and Proverbs 31:10. Regrettably not too many hold marriage or treasure their wife with such regard. Marriage once held in high regard is often treated with scorn and sarcasm.
Great numbers of marriages in this nation and around the
HAVE FUN & BRING JOY TO OTHERS
Marriage Week will shortly be with us, and it is a time to have fun as we honour and celebrate marriage and maybe also start to increase our ministry to marriages.
As we go about our lives and our ministry, and all in the church are in ministry whatever their life situation, life can be difficult from time to time particularly when all cares have not been passed to the Lord [1 Peter 5:7] and can push many things to the background and out of sight. We get too serious and lose sight of fun times whether with our spouse, family or friends; we effectively lose part of our ministry – bringing joy to others.
Scripture tells us to have fun:
“There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy,…” [Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 (ESV)]
Then Proverbs 17:22 tells us
“A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing
