Have you established a vision for your marriage?

  • What is your and your spouse’s vision for your marriage?
  • Is it God’s vision for your marriage?
  • What is the purpose of your marriage?
  • Is it God’s purpose?

God designed and created marriage; only He defines its purpose. He reveals everything that we need to know about life, marriage, how to be a husband, a wife, a father, a mother, family and children in His word – the Holy Bible.

In Amos 3:3 [NLT] the question is asked “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?”

Scripture shows that our vision is not just our own dreams/aspirations; it is part of God’s greater plan for us, our marriage and family.

In Habakkuk 2:2  the Lord shows us of the importance of writing down our vision and sharing it – “Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” [NKJV]

Husband and wife should share their dreams with each other and seek the Lord together for His direction. Also, always trusting in Him, particularly with timings. We are given an excellent base framework for our dreams and writing our vision in Ephesians 5:16-17  “So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will.” [TPT]

October Prayer for Marriages

Praying for those Working in the Areas of Health & Sciences The primary meaning of science, as given in Webster, is: "Knowledge of principles and causes: ascertained truths or facts." Galileo Galilei is quoted as saying: "The glory and greatness of Almighty God are marvellously discerned in all his works and divinely read in the open book of heaven. For let no one believe that reading the lofty concepts written in that book leads to nothing further than the mere seeing of the splendour of the sun and the stars and their rising and setting, which is as far as the eyes of brutes and of the vulgar can penetrate” By

VISION: To forge a network of Christian churches and other Christian people across Australia who will work together to offer positive resources throughout the year and in particular during Marriage Week that will help couples reaffirm the value of and commitment to their marriage. Also building Christ-centred marriages and families that seek to glorify God.

AIM: To have an annual celebration to reinforce and promote the benefits/importance of marriage and to create a marriage culture within the Christian church.

To reaffirm:
The value of marriage, which as a binding public commitment becomes the foundation of healthy families, healthy children, and a healthy community.
That marriage is ‘the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life’
The quality of our nation’s marital relationships will determine the destiny of Australia. The strength of Australian families depends on the qualities of the relationships between our nation’s mothers and fathers. Therefore marriage should be encouraged, strengthened, valued and supported by society and individuals in every possible way as a social good........Read about the whole journey that God has taken this ministry.

The Theological Foundations of the Ministry

It is our hope this statement of the theological foundations of Marriage Australia will stimulate discussion among God’s people in Australia and around the world and that we will have the opportunity to grow together as we follow Christ and Bible-driven theology, which connects the Great Commission with the institution of the family.
This foundational statement for Marriage Australia, derived from “Theology of Family Ministry” was written by Ps Scott Turansky with several other theologians. Which is currently being used by The 4/14 Transform World Family Challenge Team [Matthew Ling, Dr. PC Matthew, Professor Ben Freudenberg, Dr. Scott Turansky & Dr. Rob Rienow] Theological Foundation #1: God’s Purpose for the Family
God created the institutions of marriage and family as the foundation for human life, society, relationships, and the faith community (Genesis 1-2). God chose to move His plan of salvation forward through covenant relationships with families (Genesis 7:1, 17:7). God designed the family to be an active and powerful evangelism and discipleship centre (Genesis 18:18-19, Deuteronomy 6:5-7, Ephesians 6:4). Through the institution of family, God brings glory to Himself by advancing His multi-generational plan to fill the earth with His worshippers (Genesis 1:28, Psalm 78, Rom. 11:36).
